May 2018: 13 stories in 7 publications

It’s been another great month of new stories, all of which you can now read here.

I published several interviews with inspiring people: Dr Same Mdluli about her new job at the Standard Bank Gallery in Johannesburg; Khehla Chepape Makgato about his latest art exhibition in the Western Cape; Caroline Leisegang about her upcoming classical album; Jane Griffiths about growing your own food; and Charlene Herselman about the rise of film tourism around the world.

Speaking of travel, there’s lots to celebrate with Cape Town Travel Guide, from winter specials and fish tacos to drinks festivals and day spas. But don’t worry if you missed out. You can still enjoy the seven best drinks for May or the ten best red wines for winter.

But before you go into hibernation mode, check out the 31 new personal development posts on my Patreon page and my seven tips to help publicists work better with journalists. As Raymond Chandler says in The Big Sleep, the recommended book for this month:

“Don’t ever write anything you don’t like yourself and if you do like it, don’t take anyone’s advice about changing it. They just don’t know.”
