December 2018: 12 stories in 3 publications

It’s the last day of the year but also the start of something great!

This month features four profiles: with Berenice Pendzialek about the rise of Chinese tourists, with Marcus Smith about getting your to-do list done with the Hey Jude app, with Karl Hammerschmidt about the RunwaySale fashion website, and with Brian McKnight about his travels around the world.

Speaking of travel, the Cape Town Travel Guide features the best new restaurants (including a full review of The Commissary), the best high teas in Cape Town, the best backpackers and boutique hotels, the best beaches (including secret ones where you won’t be kicked off), as well as the best New Year’s Eve specials and events.

So, go ahead and enjoy the holiday season while you can, perhaps with the best white wines for summer if you’re taking a break or some guidance on fighting the rise of workplace depression and suicide if you’re still at work. As Kenneth Grahame writes in Wind in the Willows, our book recommendation for this month:

“Take the adventure, heed the call, now ere the irrevocable moment passes. ‘Tis but a banging of the door behind you, a blithesome step forward, and you are out of the old life and into the new.”

All the best for 2019!
